Arts in WildScaper
WildScaper offers a rich and exciting arts experience. Students illustrate a story by painting an environment using WildScapers library of graphics, then fly their animated bird through their painted scene that moves in a 3D perspective.
To help convey feeling to the images, MP3 music sound tracks can be added and will play back in the students published games. These MP3 sound tracks can either be produced by the students, the school music group or by downloads from WildScaper or the internet in general. The sound track will loop for the duration of the game level.
WildScaper's photographic and text library contains photographs, descriptive text, distribution maps and line drawn symbols of the bird species, flora and landscape graphics included in the program.
WildScaper uses standard graphic tools to enable students to paint and draw detailed features of Australian birds, flora and environments. Beginner learners can easily render the symbols on WildScaper's stage as symbols are masked, containing artwork within the defined symbol. More advanced users can use the line tool to draw in detailed features as shown in the photographs for each of the species. There are blank symbols for the birds, flora and environment allowing advanced students to create their own graphics, based on outside research and personal observations. View or download WildScaper Projects for ideas.
By studying the photographs, reading the text, referring to the distribution maps and painting the graphics, students absorb knowledge about individual species and the Australian environment.
