Publish Settings Panel
Students write game titles, instructions and stories about the scene and keyboard character they have created using the Publish Settings panel. The author’s name, text colours, text justification, target score and an MP3 file can be set for each game level. WildScaper saves one game level at a time and uses it’s player application, WildPlayer, to playback multiple game levels. WildPlayer is free to distribute with game levels and provides students with a fun learning outcome.

Publish And Play
Students can preview their story and games at anytime by clicking the Play button. Their story will appear first followed by their instructions on how to play their game. Clicking start will begin the game where symbols move in a 3D perspective and users control an animated bird’s flight using the keyboard’s arrow keys. Students can assign foreground symbols a negative or positive score on fly over and users of their game must remember which symbols to fly over and which to avoid to complete the game level.
Compile Software Panel
Students create desktop game folders for both Windows and MacOSX platforms. WildScaper creates a levels folder and copies a
version of the free to distribute WildPlayer application inside the game folder. Students save their files, as level1.wld, level2.wld etc,
to the levels folder and launch their software by double clicking the WildPlayer icon. Students can distribute their game folders.

Advanced Students
Resource materials suggested by teachers and found through personal observations and research, provide students with the
opportunity to develop native bird identification and recognition beyond WildScaper’s library content. As their expertise increases, students can create their own graphics using blank symbols and create imaginative scenes from their own photography, notes and field observations.
